Behringer Senior is a confectioner with passion. He loves surprise as much as he loves variety. But that sometimes makes decisions very difficult: a tart filled with fruits of the forest, or a classic Black Forest gateau? Cheesecake or plum cake? Or best of all, a little bit of everything?

All the fabulous tortes and wonderfully fragrant pastries are freshly made by hand every day. They are quite simply irresistible. If you don’t manage to try everything during your first visit, don’t worry. The Café Kännle is open every day of the week. And you should really come back again in any case; there is always something new to try.

Of course, such fine cakes, tarts and tortes deserve surroundings to match. Our guests can sit back and enjoy excellent service and a smart, stylish ambience in our café. You might like a strong espresso or popular latte macchiato to finish your culinary experience.

In the evenings, a platter of Black Forest ham and a quarter litre of Gutedel (Chasselas) or pinot noir turn the Kännle into a real Schwarzwaldstube restaurant. The transition from one to the other is completely smooth, so many people enjoy both atmospheres on the same day.

As the dew on the meadow gradually dries in the early morning and the sun begins to gather strength, there is nothing more lovely than to have your breakfast among the roses and lemon trees, shaded by palm trees. Our delicious breakfast with its seasonal fruits, different types of eggs, and local produce tastes especially delicious in the Mediterranean climate of our southern Black Forest. The view of the Vosges Mountains and the fragrance of the fir trees complete this feast for the senses.
